Description

Sticky, tender chicken bites coated in a glossy honey barbecue glaze that delivers the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and savory flavor. Quick to make, crowd pleasing, and ideal for weeknights or parties.

Ingredients

  • Boneless skinless chicken breast: 500 g, cut into bite sized pieces
  • Cornstarch: 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
  • Neutral cooking oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Barbecue sauce: 120 ml
  • Honey: 60 ml
  • Tomato paste: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: 2 tablespoons
  • Dried parsley: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the chicken pieces, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot and shimmering.
  3. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, honey, tomato paste, and water until smooth.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, pour the sauce over the chicken, and gently toss until all pieces are coated.
  6. Let the chicken simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with dried parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Cut chicken into evenly sized pieces to ensure uniform cooking.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan to achieve proper browning.
  • Add the sauce only after the chicken is fully cooked to prevent burning.
  • Lower the heat when glazing so the sauce thickens without sticking.
