Description

Sticky, sweet, and savory, this Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect quick dinner. Served over rice with tender broccolini and finished with sesame seeds, it’s comfort food made easy.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 bunch broccolini
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and mince the garlic.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through, about 6 to 7 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, water, cornstarch, sesame oil, and garlic until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir until it thickens and coats the chicken, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Steam the broccolini until tender and vibrant green.
  6. Serve the chicken over rice, add broccolini on the side, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to avoid over-salting.
  • Double the sauce if you prefer extra to drizzle over rice.
  • Tofu can be used instead of chicken for a vegetarian version.
