Description

A cozy café-style toast topped with herby basil pesto, savory sautéed mushrooms, and creamy burrata, perfect for an easy yet indulgent breakfast, brunch, or light meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 thick slices rustic bread (about 60 g each)
  • 200 g fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
  • 4 tablespoons prepared basil pesto
  • 150 g burrata cheese, gently torn
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp, then set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and become golden.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Spread an even layer of basil pesto over each slice of toasted bread.
  6. Spoon the warm mushrooms on top of the pesto.
  7. Gently tear the burrata cheese and place it over the mushrooms.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

  • Cook mushrooms in a single layer to achieve better browning.
