Description

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes is a creamy, comforting side dish made with fluffy potatoes and slow-roasted garlic, delivering a rich, savory flavor and silky texture that’s perfect for family dinners, holidays, and cozy meals.


Ingredients

  • Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), 1.5 kg, peeled and cut into chunks
  • Garlic bulbs, 2 whole (about 120 g)
  • Olive oil, 30 ml
  • Unsalted butter, 60 g
  • Whole milk, 240 ml, warmed
  • Heavy cream, 120 ml
  • Salt, 8 g, or to taste
  • Ground black pepper, 3 g
  • Fresh chives or parsley, 10 g, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Slice the tops off the garlic bulbs, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 35 to 40 minutes until soft and golden.
  2. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves into a bowl and mash into a smooth paste.
  3. Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, add salt, and bring to a boil. Simmer for 18 to 22 minutes until fork-tender.
  4. Drain the potatoes well and return them to the hot pot over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  5. Add butter to the potatoes and mash until melted. Stir in roasted garlic, warm milk, and cream gradually until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper, adjust to taste, and transfer to a serving bowl.
  7. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley and serve warm.
