Description
A playful and comforting sweet pasta dish made with tender bowtie pasta coated in a silky, creamy strawberry sauce that tastes like summer in every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200 g bowtie pasta
- 250 g fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 small pinch salt
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until tender. Drain well and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until smooth.
- Add the chopped strawberries and granulated sugar, stirring gently as the strawberries soften and release their juices.
- Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then reduce heat slightly and let the mixture simmer gently until fragrant and lightly pink.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens to a silky consistency.
- Add a small pinch of salt and stir to balance the sweetness.
- Add the cooked pasta to the saucepan and gently toss until every piece is evenly coated in the strawberry sauce.
- Serve immediately while warm and creamy.
Notes
- Use ripe, fragrant strawberries for the best natural sweetness and color.
- Keep the heat gentle when cooking the sauce to prevent the cream from scorching.
- Serve immediately for the smoothest texture and freshest flavor.
- If reheating, add a small splash of cream to restore the sauce’s silkiness.
