- 1 large egg for egg wash

- 2 medium red apples, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, eggs, and softened butter. Knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape into round buns.
- Place the buns on the prepared baking sheet and gently press the center of each bun.
- Arrange thin apple slices in the center of each bun and sprinkle sliced almonds around the edges.
- Brush the buns with egg wash.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Warm the apricot jam slightly and brush over the apples for shine.
- Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
