Description
Baked Camembert with figs, honey, and crusty bread is a simple yet indulgent appetizer that combines creamy, melty cheese with sweet fruit and rustic bread for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 wheel Camembert cheese (about 8 oz)
- 6 to 8 fresh figs, halved or quartered
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 small loaf crusty bread, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the figs and bread. Let the Camembert come to room temperature.
- Place the Camembert in an oven-safe dish or its wooden box without the paper. Score the top rind in a criss-cross pattern.
- Put the dish on a baking sheet. Optionally, drizzle some honey on top before baking.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is soft and melty.
- Arrange figs and sliced bread around the baked cheese. Drizzle with remaining honey.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is still warm and gooey.
Notes
- Let the cheese rest for 5 minutes after baking to slightly thicken.
- Toast the bread slices for extra crunch.
- Use parchment under the cheese for easier cleanup.
