Description

Crispy taco shells filled with savory seasoned ground beef and topped with fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, sharp onions, melted cheddar, and cool sour cream. These beef tacos are quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 12 hard taco shells
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F to warm the taco shells later.
  2. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, breaking it apart until fully browned and no pink remains. Stir in the seasoning mixture and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Place taco shells on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 5 minutes until lightly crisp.
  6. Spoon seasoned beef into each shell and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped onion, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and crisp.

Notes

  • Drain excess fat from the beef if necessary, but keep a small amount for flavor.
  • Warm taco shells before filling to prevent cracking.
  • Store leftover beef separately in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
