Juicy shrimp bathed in a rich, buttery garlic sauce with a hint of spice and sweetness, served over warm rice for the ultimate comfort meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Set a large skillet over medium heat and let it warm up.
  2. Add butter and let it melt completely. Stir in garlic, paprika, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Ensure shrimp are thawed, peeled, and patted dry.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Let cook for 1–2 minutes without moving.
  5. Flip shrimp and cook for another 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Stir in lemon juice and simmer for a minute more.
  6. Turn off heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top.
  7. Serve over warm cooked rice and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use large or jumbo shrimp for best texture.
  • Fresh lemon juice brightens the dish perfectly.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing.
  • The sauce can be made ahead and reheated gently.
