- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs or chunks
- 12 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and sauté until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet and cook the chicken with half of the Cajun seasoning until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in remaining Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Return the cooked chicken and sausage to the skillet. Add the drained pasta and toss until everything is well coated in the sauce.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to control the spice level.
- Reheat leftovers with a splash of cream or milk for best texture.
