Ingredients
Scale

- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 4 slices white cheese
- 2 brioche buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat until very hot.
- Season the ground beef with salt and black pepper, then divide into equal portions.
- Add olive oil and butter to the skillet, then cook the sliced onions slowly until deeply golden and caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- Place beef portions onto the hot skillet and press firmly to create thin patties.
- Cook until crispy on the edges, flip, then add cheese slices and allow them to melt.
- Toast the brioche buns lightly with butter until golden.
- Assemble the burger by stacking patties with caramelized onions inside the bun and serve warm.
Notes
- Cook onions low and slow for the best sweetness and texture.
- Use a very hot skillet to achieve crispy edges on the patties.
