Description

Juicy smashed beef patties layered with sweet caramelized onions and melted cheese, all tucked inside a soft brioche bun for the ultimate comfort burger.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices white cheese
  • 2 brioche buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat until very hot.
  2. Season the ground beef with salt and black pepper, then divide into equal portions.
  3. Add olive oil and butter to the skillet, then cook the sliced onions slowly until deeply golden and caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  4. Place beef portions onto the hot skillet and press firmly to create thin patties.
  5. Cook until crispy on the edges, flip, then add cheese slices and allow them to melt.
  6. Toast the brioche buns lightly with butter until golden.
