Description

Juicy sliced chicken, sautéed peppers, onions, and melty cheese tucked into warm toasted rolls. These Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwiches are comforting, flavorful, and incredibly quick to make.


Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 150 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 sandwich rolls or hoagie rolls
  • 1 tbsp butter for toasting the rolls

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken, onions, and peppers into thin, even strips to ensure quick and tender cooking.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add the onions and peppers, and cook until softened and lightly caramelized.
  3. Add the sliced chicken, garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Cook until the chicken is tender and golden.
  4. Reduce heat and sprinkle mozzarella over the chicken mixture. Add provolone slices and allow the cheese to melt into the filling.
  5. Butter the sandwich rolls lightly and toast them in a skillet or oven until warm and golden.
  6. Fill each toasted roll generously with the cheesy chicken mixture.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • Slice the chicken very thinly for faster cooking and tender bites.
