- 500 g boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 150 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 sandwich rolls or hoagie rolls
- 1 tbsp butter for toasting the rolls
Instructions
- Slice the chicken, onions, and peppers into thin, even strips to ensure quick and tender cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add the onions and peppers, and cook until softened and lightly caramelized.
- Add the sliced chicken, garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Cook until the chicken is tender and golden.
- Reduce heat and sprinkle mozzarella over the chicken mixture. Add provolone slices and allow the cheese to melt into the filling.
- Butter the sandwich rolls lightly and toast them in a skillet or oven until warm and golden.
- Fill each toasted roll generously with the cheesy chicken mixture.
- Serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- Slice the chicken very thinly for faster cooking and tender bites.
- Store leftover filling in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Toast the rolls just before assembling to keep them crisp.
