Description

A comforting, family-friendly bake featuring juicy hot dog rounds and savory chili topped with a layer of golden, crispy potato tots and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 Hot Dogs, sliced into rounds
  • 30 oz Canned Chili
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 32 oz Frozen Potato Tots
  • 1/2 cup Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced hot dogs, canned chili, diced onion, and garlic powder.
  3. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and pour the chili mixture into an even layer.
  4. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese over the chili base.
  5. Arrange the frozen potato tots in even rows across the top of the cheese.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes until the tots are golden and the sauce is bubbling.
  7. Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and bake for 5 more minutes until melted.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy potatoes, spray the top with a bit of cooking oil before baking.
  • Add jalapeños to the chili base for a spicy kick.
  • Make sure potatoes are frozen when they go in the oven for the best texture.
