Description

Soft and cozy pumpkin spice scones filled with chocolate chips, perfectly spiced and lightly sweetened, ideal for breakfast or a comforting snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gently mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, shape into a circle, and cut into 8 triangles.
  6. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, then optionally drizzle with glaze or dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the butter cold for a flaky texture.
  • Do not overmix the dough to maintain softness.
  • You can chill the dough for 10 minutes before baking for better shape.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
