- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50 g)
- 1 large egg (≈50 g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 g)
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour (150 g)
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder (≈30 g)
- 1 tsp baking soda (5 g)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (≈2.5 g)
- Dash of salt (≈0.5 g)
- ½ cup chocolate chips, plus more for topping (85 g)
- ⅓ cup chopped strawberries (≈50 g), plus extra for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter and Greek yogurt or sour cream, then mix until combined.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla extract. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, then mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped strawberries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips and strawberries on top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and texture.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the loaf soft and tender.
- Lightly coat strawberries in flour to prevent sinking.
- Let the bread cool before slicing for clean cuts.
