Description
These Cinnamon French Toast Bites are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacking with a side of maple syrup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices white bread, crusts removed and cubed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until smooth.
- Add the bread cubes and toss gently until evenly coated. Let them soak for 2–3 minutes.
- Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until melted and sizzling.
- Place the soaked bread cubes in the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove the bites and briefly place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess butter.
- In a separate bowl, mix the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Toss the warm bites in this mixture until coated.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce like maple syrup or whipped cream.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for best texture and soak control.
- Work in small batches to keep bites crisp and evenly cooked.
- Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to maintain crunch.
- Customize with spices like nutmeg or cardamom for extra depth.
