Description

These Cinnamon French Toast Bites are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacking with a side of maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices white bread, crusts removed and cubed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add the bread cubes and toss gently until evenly coated. Let them soak for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until melted and sizzling.
  4. Place the soaked bread cubes in the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove the bites and briefly place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess butter.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Toss the warm bites in this mixture until coated.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce like maple syrup or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for best texture and soak control.
  • Work in small batches to keep bites crisp and evenly cooked.
  • Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to maintain crunch.
  • Customize with spices like nutmeg or cardamom for extra depth.
