Description

A rich and comforting marinara sauce made with tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and herbs, simmered to perfection for a deep, balanced flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 28 ounces canned whole peeled tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place a saucepan over medium heat and allow it to warm gently.
  2. Add olive oil and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Crush the tomatoes by hand and add them into the saucepan along with their juices.
  4. Stir in dried oregano, salt, and black pepper, mixing everything evenly.
  5. Let the sauce simmer gently for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
  6. Tear fresh basil leaves and stir them in right before removing from heat.
  7. Serve warm over your favorite pasta or use as desired.

Notes

  • Use high quality canned tomatoes for best flavor.
  • Do not burn the garlic as it can become bitter.
  • Adjust salt at the end for perfect balance.
  • Let the sauce rest a few minutes before serving for deeper flavor.
