Description

Crispy Cheesy Potato Balls are golden, crunchy snacks filled with a gooey cheesy center, perfect for parties, snacking, or using leftover mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cubed mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth, then mix in cheddar, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Flatten a portion of the mixture, place a mozzarella cube in the center, and roll into a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture.
  3. Coat each ball in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F and fry the potato balls in small batches for about 3 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and cool on a wire rack. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Freeze shaped balls for 10 minutes before frying for better stability.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for an extra crispy texture.
  • Keep oil temperature steady for even browning.
