Ingredients
Scale

- 3 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 red chilli, sliced
- 2 spring onions, sliced
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or deep pan over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, toss beef slices with beaten egg. In a separate bowl, mix cornflour and plain flour.
- Coat each beef strip in the flour mixture until evenly covered.
- Fry the beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a clean pan, add a little oil and sauté garlic, ginger, and red chilli for 30 seconds.
- Stir in soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Let it simmer for 1 minute.
- Add the crispy beef to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Stir in sliced spring onions and serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra crunch, let the beef rest on a rack before tossing in the sauce.
- Adjust the chilli and sugar levels to suit your heat preference.
- Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to retain crispiness.
