- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter and vegetable oil until melted.
- Place grated potatoes in a bowl, add salt and black pepper, and mix gently.
- Ensure the pan is evenly coated with the melted butter and oil.
- Add the potato mixture into the pan and press it into a flat, even layer.
- Cook undisturbed for about 10 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy.
- Carefully flip the rosti and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes until the other side is golden.
- Remove from the pan, let it rest briefly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Squeeze excess moisture from the potatoes before cooking for extra crispiness.
- Use a mix of butter and oil for the best flavor and texture.
- Cook on medium heat to ensure even cooking inside and out.
