Description

Tender shredded beef slow-cooked in a savory broth, served on toasted hoagie rolls with melted provolone and a rich jus for dipping. These Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches are the ultimate comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pounds chuck roast
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat if searing the roast. Sear the chuck roast on all sides until browned.
  2. Place the roast in the slow cooker. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Sprinkle onion powder and garlic powder on top.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
  4. Remove the beef and shred it using two forks. Strain the broth into a bowl to serve as jus.
  5. Toast hoagie rolls under a broiler for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  6. Layer shredded beef onto rolls, top with provolone, and return to the broiler until cheese is melted.
  7. Serve each sandwich with a small bowl of jus for dipping.
