  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until browned and fragrant.
  3. Add diced carrots, peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and let simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  6. Spread mashed potatoes over the meat mixture evenly.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden and lightly crisp.
  8. Sprinkle dried herbs on top, let rest for a few minutes, then serve warm.
