Ultra crispy Dorito-coated chicken tenders baked to golden perfection with a bold cheesy crunch and juicy center. A fun, family-friendly dinner that is easy to make and impossible to resist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds chicken tenders (about 10 to 12 pieces)
- 4 cups crushed nacho cheese Doritos (about 9 ounces)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil spray, light coating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and place a wire rack on a baking sheet. Lightly spray the rack with olive oil spray.
- In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. Place crushed Doritos in a third bowl.
- Dredge each chicken tender in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip into the beaten eggs, coating completely.
- Press firmly into the crushed Doritos to fully coat, ensuring an even crust.
- Place coated tenders on the prepared wire rack, leaving space between each piece.
- Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.
- Bake for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the coating is crisp and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Crush the Doritos finely but not into powder to maintain texture.
- Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure crispiness.
- For extra crunch, spray lightly with oil during the final minutes of baking.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes to restore crisp texture.
