Description

Easy Beef Udon Noodles is a quick and comforting noodle dish made with chewy udon, tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a glossy savory sauce that comes together fast and tastes better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • Udon noodles – 14 oz
  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced – 12 oz
  • Broccoli florets – 2 cups
  • Soy sauce – 1/3 cup
  • Oyster sauce – 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic cloves, minced – 3 cloves
  • Fresh ginger, grated – 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon
  • Water – 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Cook the udon noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium high heat and add vegetable oil.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced beef and cook quickly until just browned.
  6. Add broccoli florets and stir for 1 to 2 minutes until bright green.
  7. Add cooked udon noodles to the skillet.
  8. Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and toss everything together.
  9. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles evenly.
  10. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice the beef very thin for the most tender texture.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water to loosen it.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste if you prefer a less salty dish.
