Description
Soft and tender peanut butter sugar cookies topped with melty Reese’s hearts, perfect for an easy festive treat with rich chocolate and peanut butter flavor.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter: 113 g, softened
- Granulated sugar: 150 g
- Large egg: 1
- Vanilla extract: 5 ml
- All purpose flour: 250 g
- Baking soda: 5 g
- Salt: 2 g
- Reese’s peanut butter hearts: 20 pieces, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175 C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into balls of about 30 g each and place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Remove from the oven and gently press one Reese’s heart into the center of each cookie.
- Return the cookies to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 10 minutes if it feels too soft to handle.
- Do not overbake, the cookies will continue to set as they cool.
- Press the Reese’s hearts gently to help them keep their shape.
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for best freshness.
