- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and chocolate hazelnut spread, then mix until smooth.
- Slowly add dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and toasted hazelnuts.
- Scoop large portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Add extra chocolate chips or hazelnuts on top if desired.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Serve warm or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Toast the hazelnuts before adding them for deeper flavor.
- Do not overbake the cookies or they may lose their soft center.
- Chill the dough for 20 minutes if the kitchen is warm.
