This High-Protein Animal-Style Burger Bowl is a delicious bunless twist on the classic burger. Loaded with crispy roasted potatoes, juicy cheesy beef patties, caramelized onions, and a tangy secret sauce over crisp shredded lettuce, it’s satisfying, bold, and packed with flavor.

- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
- 3 medium russet potatoes, cubed
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a skillet over medium heat.
- Toss cubed potatoes with 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, and garlic powder to create the sauce. Chill until serving.
- In the skillet, cook onions with 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-low heat for 20–25 minutes until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
- Form beef into 4 thin patties, season with salt and pepper, and sear on a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side. Top with cheese during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly to melt.
- Layer bowls with shredded lettuce, roasted potatoes, cheesy patties, caramelized onions, and pickles. Drizzle with sauce.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

- Use a cast iron skillet for best sear on the patties.
