Description

Hot Honey Marinated Wagyu Strip Steaks are tender, juicy, and bursting with sweet heat. The rich marbling of Wagyu pairs perfectly with a fiery hot honey marinade that caramelizes beautifully during searing, creating a glossy, flavorful crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 Wagyu strip steaks, 250 to 300 g each
  • 3 tbsp hot honey
  • 1 tbsp regular honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together hot honey, regular honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, onion powder, salt, and chili flakes.
  2. Pat the Wagyu strip steaks dry, then coat generously with the marinade. Refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Once hot, sear the steaks for 2 to 3 minutes per side for medium rare, brushing with extra marinade as they cook.
  4. Transfer the steaks to a board and let them rest for 5 minutes. Drizzle with warm hot honey, slice against the grain, and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the skillet is very hot before searing for maximum caramelization.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Resting the steak after cooking helps retain its juices.
