Description

A rich and creamy shrimp pasta coated in a velvety garlic parmesan sauce, perfectly balanced with herbs and spices for a comforting and elegant meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 grams spaghetti or linguine
  • 400 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Reserve a little pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and softened.
  5. Add shrimp and cook until just opaque, then remove and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, stir in tomato paste, heavy cream, and Italian seasoning. Let it simmer gently.
  7. Add grated parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  8. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
  9. Return the shrimp to the skillet and mix gently.
  10. Sprinkle fresh parsley, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for a smoother sauce.
  • Add a splash of pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
  • Reheat gently with a bit of cream or water to maintain texture.
