Description

A hearty and comforting classic, this meatloaf is packed with savory flavor, tender texture, and a sweet-tangy glaze that makes every bite satisfying. It’s easy to prepare, budget-friendly, and perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, eggs, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, milk, salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. Mix until just combined.
  3. Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  4. Press the meat mixture into the pan and smooth the top. Spread extra ketchup over the top as a glaze.
  5. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for best flavor and moisture.
  • Don’t overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
  • Let it rest before slicing for clean cuts.
  • Add veggies like grated zucchini or carrots for a nutritional boost.
