Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until a thick cookie dough forms.
- Fold the chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
- Scoop large portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each portion.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges turn golden while the centers remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 30 to 60 minutes if you want even thicker cookies.
- Use large scoops of dough to maintain the tall bakery-style shape.
- Do not overbake, the cookies should still look slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
- Press a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style appearance.
