Description
A rich and comforting one-pan dish made with tender chickpeas simmered in a smoky harissa sauce and finished with a touch of cream for a velvety texture.

Scale
- 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons harissa paste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft and lightly golden, then add minced garlic and stir.
- Stir in harissa paste, smoked paprika, and cumin, cooking briefly to release aromas.
- Add chickpeas and mix well to coat them in the spice mixture.
- Pour in vegetable broth and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat and gently stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
- Finish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of harissa to control spice level.
- For a dairy-free option, use coconut milk instead of cream.
- Let the dish sit for a few minutes before serving to thicken the sauce.
