Description

Ingredients

  • 250 grams spaghetti pasta
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and cook slowly until soft and golden.
  4. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add red chili flakes and paprika, stirring gently to release their flavor.
  6. Mix in soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring to combine.
  7. Add the cooked pasta along with a splash of reserved pasta water, tossing until well coated.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper.
  9. Finish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
