Description
A comforting Persian-inspired dish featuring tender marinated beef cooked in a rich tomato and spice sauce, served over fluffy basmati rice and finished with fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 grams beef cubes
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your grill pan or prepare skewers over medium heat.
- In a bowl, combine beef cubes with yogurt, turmeric, salt, black pepper, and half of the olive oil. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat remaining olive oil in a pan and sauté chopped onions until soft and lightly golden.
- Add tomato paste to the onions and stir well, then add the marinated beef.
- Cook the meat until browned and fully cooked, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley over the cooked meat and mix gently.
- Serve the beef mixture over fluffy basmati rice and enjoy.
Notes
- Marinate the meat longer for deeper flavor.
- Do not overcook the beef to keep it tender.
- Add a squeeze of lemon before serving for brightness.
