Description

A comforting Persian-inspired dish featuring tender marinated beef cooked in a rich tomato and spice sauce, served over fluffy basmati rice and finished with fresh herbs.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams beef cubes
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill pan or prepare skewers over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine beef cubes with yogurt, turmeric, salt, black pepper, and half of the olive oil. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat remaining olive oil in a pan and sauté chopped onions until soft and lightly golden.
  4. Add tomato paste to the onions and stir well, then add the marinated beef.
  5. Cook the meat until browned and fully cooked, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef.
  6. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the cooked meat and mix gently.
  7. Serve the beef mixture over fluffy basmati rice and enjoy.

Notes

  • Marinate the meat longer for deeper flavor.
  • Do not overcook the beef to keep it tender.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon before serving for brightness.
