Description
Turkey Lollipops are a fun, elegant appetizer made by shaping turkey drumettes into lollipop-style bites, seasoned with warm spices, lightly glazed, and roasted until golden, juicy, and irresistibly crispy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 turkey drumettes, skin on
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water (for slurry)
Instructions
- Use a sharp knife to cut around the base of each drumette, removing tendons and pushing the meat upward to create the lollipop shape.
- Place drumettes in a bowl and add olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and lemon juice. Toss until evenly coated.
- In a small bowl mix honey, cornstarch, and water to form a smooth slurry.
- Arrange turkey lollipops on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush lightly with the glaze.
- Roast at 200°C for 40 to 45 minutes, brushing again halfway through, until glossy, crisp, and fully cooked.
Notes
- Pat the turkey dry before seasoning for crispier skin.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven to keep them crisp.
- Let the lollipops rest a few minutes before serving to retain juiciness.
